SPE Motorsport GT500 Drag Vertical links are the first step in helping
eliminate wheel hop and the only ones allowing the use of a 17" wheel.
SPE Motorsport's GT500 Drag Vertical links are designed with CNC machined Delrin bushings and 304 stainless sleeves inside a 6061 billet aluminum housing. This design gives excellent performance with zero deflection. SPE has also engineered our Drag vertical links to clear most 17" wheels to allow fitment of a smaller drag wheel on the back of your gt500.
When launching at the drag strip they help keep the tires planted instead of hopping while trying to grip. The stock vertical link rubber bushings flex under cornering loads giving you inconsistent handling characteristics.
SPE’s billet construction eliminates bushing flex, giving you much improved repeatability on the street, starting line, or in the corners. Delrin bushings are a precision machined component and hold a very tight tolerance; they help eliminate deflection and wheel alignment changes. SPE vertical links add zero noise, vibration, & harnesses (NVH) to the chassis unlike other links with heim style joints. Through real world and CAD simulations there is no gain going to a stiffer heim style rod ends, it only increased NVH.
To utilize the SPE Drag vertical links and fit a 17" rear wheel the electric E brake will need eliminated. The customer will also need to go to a smaller rear rotor and caliper setup. For example Eco boost brakes or GT drag brake kit.
** SPE Recommends our cradle lockout kit in conjunction with the vertical links to get even better results.
