The odds of witnessing a tie at the truck pulls are extremely rare, but not impossible. On July 25th, the near-impossible happened when Bryan Banghart and Jason Wayman both traveled 315.94 feet with the sled in tow at the West Fair Truck & Tractor Pull in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Both drivers’ Dodges benefit from common-rail Cummins power plants (Banghart’s a Freedom Racing Engines-equipped first-gen and Wayman’s a late-model Mega Cab with a Perkins Diesel engine under the hood) and compete in the PPL Champion Seed Western Series Limited Pro Stock class. Banghart leads the points series so far in 2025, but Wayman is the reigning class champion (from both 2023 and 2024), which makes the wild Friday night First Place tie seem fitting.

General Motors reported $1.9 billion in net income for the second quarter of 2025, a figure that’s down 34.5-percent year-over-year. The huge losses have been blamed on tariffs (GM builds the Trailblazer, Trax, Encore, GX, and Envista in Korea, for example), as well as warranty costs and EV inventory adjustments. Yet it’s not all doom and gloom for the Detroit-based, global automaker. Its full-size trucks and SUVs remained number 1 in their respective segments in the United States for the sixth year in a row, and it holds a 17.4-percent market share in the states, which is up 0.7 points year-over-year.

When you need all the fuel, you get a Sigma pump. When you need more than all the fuel, you contact Fair Valley Performance. This billet bodied beauty packs 18mm plungers and can flow an incredible maximum of 2,350 cc’s of fuel. Chances are it won’t live at that level on the pulling tractor it’s destined to be bolted to—but the option will be there, nonetheless. A similar Sigma pump will soon be found in the pulling truck world, fueling the standard cab second-gen coined “O-Line” that’s being campaigned by WP Developments’ Ethan Patterson and Indianapolis Colts’ Offensive Guard, Dalton Tucker.

This past weekend, Brittany Force made Top Fuel history at Sonoma Raceway, hitting a record-setting 343.16 mph. This insane run reset the NHRA speed record, which comes after a recent 341.85 mph record by the same team. Down the 1000ft Force's dragster ran a .819 60 foot with 2.940 at 304.94 mph at the 660 foot mark, resulting in a 3.645 ET at 343.16 mph. Force, now dubbed the "Queen of Speed," continues to push boundaries, leaving the industry wondering: "How much faster can she go?"

It’s not easy to talk truck owners into throwing a bunch of nitrous at their parts combination when they’ve already cleared big power on the dyno at Firepunk Diesel. What happens after that can include scattered parts or an even bigger number. For Lewis Carter, both happened. Upon clearing 1,508 hp on fuel with his 5.70 Index OBS Ford, peer pressure got the best of him, and he threw a big shot of N2O at the compound turbo, common-rail Cummins. The result? The atmosphere turbo (a 102mm Garrett GT55) took out the S488 manifold charger and a brief, violent fireworks display unfolded in the Firepunk dyno cell. Now, Lewis is considering upsizing to a 114mm GT55 over an 88mm GTX—along with adding dual wastegates.

This one's a feel-good, time capsule sorta story, and it's all over the internet. 11 years ago, Ford autoworker Richard Guilford lost his wallet while working on the production line. Fast forward a decade and 150,000 miles later, Technician Chad Volk in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, found the wallet while working on the 2015 Edge that Guilford had left it in. The wallet was found tucked away on top of the transmission, beneath the airbox. Inside, Volk found a Ford Motor Company employee ID, $15 in cash, and $250 worth of Cabela's gift cards, which Guilford later confirmed were intended for Christmas gifts. After looking up Guilford on Facebook, Volk reached out to him and returned the wallet. Apparently, 11 years prior, Guilford and his coworkers spent an undisclosed amount of time searching hundreds of cars for the wallet with (obviously) no luck. Get this, Cabela's says the gift cards are still valid!
